Way down low (song)

Has anyone noticed a pattern in my lyircs? Dark, slightly dark, Deep dark, etc. Why not Light Deep, or Deep Happy, or just plain Happy Light. I don't know.

Anyway, I started writing this song at camp when I was around fourteen. I just dusted it off and finished it today. There is a bridge, but I can't for the life of me remember what it is. It's written somewhere in my lyric book which is not within my reach right now. I'll edit it in later.

[Edit: I found the lyrics I wrote for the bridge. It makes it a little lighter:) It's down below]

Here it is:

Way Down Low

V1.
Liquid dark
Surrounds this place
Why does love
Not show its face?

Pull me out
Of this despair
Can he save me?
Does he care?

Is he really there?
Are you there?

C.
Way down low
That's where you found me
I'm stranded here
I can't get out
It's much too late for me now

Cause I'm not getting any stronger
I can't do it alone anymore
Cause I can't stand it any longer
Just take me home
Take me...home

V2:
In this place
No light shines through
There is not hope
I cry out to you

My world falls apart
My friends are in pain
How can I go on?
Show me its not in vain

I'm calling your name
Calling your name

C.
Way down low
That's where you found me
I'm stranded here
I can't get out
Its much too late for me now

Cause I'm not getting any stronger
I can't do it alone anymore
Cause I can't stand it any longer
Just take me home
Take me...home

B.

Rescue me
Rescue me from the dark
That I may find
Oh to find
Life renewed
Here with you

Your lyrics kind of remind me of Evanescence. But yours are different in a vital way - your hope. It shows through in your bridge. The belief that there is something more than despair, a light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak.

I am a big fan of Evanescence but I always wanted a sign of hope from them, but in the depths of their songs, there was only more darkness. That is what I really like about your song. It’s another one that I'd like to hear you play.

Take Care - Love always ~ Laura
